Summary Biography, Edward D. Moore

Edward D. Moore is the Principal Consultant of dcaaConsulting LLC.  This is a consulting and accounting practice devoted to Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) audit matters, the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) and other government contracting challenges.  Mr. Moore is a seasoned expert in DCAA and government contracting matters with 25 years experience.

Mr. Moore consults with a diverse business base to maximize their financial position in government contracting.  Mr. Moore's diverse experience as a former decorated DCAA Auditor, Consultant, Controller, Chief Financial Officer and Contracts Manager provides his clients a unique expertise rarely found in one individual.  This vast experience provides Mr. Moore the expertise to solve client challenges and facilitate best government contracting practices.

After graduating with honors with an MBA in Professional Accountancy from Clarion University of Pennsylvania, he accepted a position as a Senior Auditor with the Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA).  During this tenure he was a decorated auditor receiving an Employee of the Year nomination and two separate Sustained Superior Performance Awards.   During this time he quickly accelerated through the ranks and focused on high risk high profile audits such as Defective Pricing, Cost Accounting Standards, and other high risk audits.  During this time he passed the CPA Examination his first time and was licensed as a Certified Public Accountant.

Mr. Moore was heavily recruited by Peat Marwick (aka KPMG and Bearing Point) to be a consultant and later Manager in their Government Contractor Consulting Practice.  In this role he helped clients with their DCAA and government contracting challenges.  The focus was on DCAA audits, the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), the Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) and other government contracting challenges.  He worked in this capacity for many years.

He was also recruited by government contractors as well and held various key management positions for many years.  These positions included Controller, Contracts Manager, Director of Finance, and Chief Financial Officer.  He managed traditional financial objectives in the government contracting industry and resolved government contracting challenges.  He helped maximize compliance, profitability, contract awards and cash flow substantially.

Today Mr. Moore enjoys working with both small and large government contractors focusing on DCAA, the FAR, the CAS and other government contracting challenges.  He has solved all of these challenges to the benefit of these clients and has guided them through this process enhancing compliance, contract awards, profitability and cash flow.
